Connect your assistant. Two minutes.
OpenBrief is a remote MCP server. Your assistant can set it up from a prompt, or you can add it yourself: the server URL is the same everywhere, and sign-in happens in your browser.
Paste this into your assistant
It reads the instructions, adds the server if it can, walks you through anything it cannot, and checks that it works.
Connect to OpenBrief by following https://openbrief.media/connect.md or assist me in enabling the connection step by step. If you cannot add MCP servers yourself, tell me which app you are and give me the exact steps for it. Wait for me to confirm each step. At the end, list the OpenBrief tools to prove the connection works, then ask me for my first campaign.- Server URL
- https://mcp.openbrief.media/mcp
- Transport
- Streamable HTTP
- Authentication
- OAuth 2.0 in your browser. No token to copy.
- Cost
- Free for advertisers
Add the server yourself
Claude (web and desktop)
Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it OpenBrief and paste the server URL. Save, then choose Connect and sign in when the browser opens.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http openbrief https://mcp.openbrief.media/mcpThen run /mcp inside Claude Code, pick openbrief and choose Authenticate.
ChatGPT
Open Settings, then Connectors, then Advanced and turn on Developer mode. Create a connector, paste the server URL, choose OAuth for authentication, and start a new chat with the connector enabled. Availability depends on your plan.
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project, then open Settings, MCP and sign in.

Any other assistant
Add a remote MCP server with the URL above, Streamable HTTP transport and OAuth. If your tool only accepts a local command, use mcp-remote:
npx mcp-remote https://mcp.openbrief.media/mcpCheck that it works
- Reload or restart your assistant if it does not show the connector yet.
- Ask it to list the OpenBrief tools. You should see submit_brief, refine_brief, list_my_briefs and get_brief.
- Ask for a first brief: where, the target age range and the audience's interests. Never name the advertiser.
Listing your media?
Media use a separate server, so a media's assistant can read and update its listing. Add it the same way, with this URL, and sign in with the account you use for the console.
https://mcp-media.openbrief.media/mcpCommon problems
- No browser window opened. Look behind your other windows. If none opens, ask your assistant for the authorization link and open it yourself.
- The tools do not show up. Reload the assistant, or start a new chat. In ChatGPT, enable the connector in the chat.
- Sign-in loops or is refused. Use your work email, and finish the sign-in in the same browser profile that opened it.
- Still stuck. Write to us and say which assistant you use.
